The Mag: I spoke with Urijah Faber last week, and he said he'd be willing to go up to 155 and move to the UFC. How would you feel about that?
DW: I don't know if I want to see that. He's so small. I don't know how he'd do at 155. He's so talented at that weight, and he doesn't even have to cut to make it. That fight lived up to the hype. The place was legitimately sold out, with the best fighters in the world. He should stay at 145 and become a superstar.
Don't hold him back Dana!!!

I'd take Griffin, Guida, KenFlo, Sherk, BJ, Huerta, Aurelio on a good day, and probably Thiago Tavares over Faber. Gray Maynard and Frank Edgar may put up fights, too, but nah.

I actually was drinking w/ Faber in Columbus at 82, I asked him about moving up to 155 to fight in the UFC.
When/if Penn moves up, he said he'd think about it since he said he was training w/ BJ.
Can't see how/why he wouldn't move up when the opportunity presents itself, he'd make alot more cash in the "big" league.

He's also talked about going down to 135 to possibly fight Yamamoto. that makes more sense than going up to 155. He's too small to be real effective at 155 in the UFc.
he should stay at 145 so that division can flourish

He's just saying that because if Faber left WEC that org would fucking fold.

I know, he doesn't want their biggest star to leave.

I'm not bashing the guy, I know he's a good fighter, and i have more respect for him after the Pulver fight than I did before, but I just see him getting manhandled by a lot of the top guys at 155 in the ufc.

I've always been kinda 'meh' about Faber. Most of the guys he has fought aren't very accomplished. He won me over in that Jens fight. Jens if one of my favorites too.

I was impressed that he basically stood with Pulver for five rounds. That takes balls. And he won every round, pretty impressive, hadn't seen anything like that from him before. I also appreciated his comments after the fight.
I would love to see him fight the 135 lb champ, torres. At 135 or 145, that would be a great scrap.

Faber's too small for 155. A superfight between him and Torres at catch weight of 140 would be the fight I'd want to see. I don't think it'll happen, because they're gonna want to build those two up as stars.

UFC needs more weight classes so that Faber can fight where he's best.
