It doesn't matter how many shots on the arms you take - or actually it shouldn't matter. If only a few blows to the head get through (and 90% partially blocked), and the guys not taking damage, you don't stop it. Part of the game plan there is to hope the guy overpunches, goes off balance, and then you can escape. The only shots Verdum landed cleanly were two or three to the back of the head (which are illegal). Vera intelligently defended himself by blocking all the legal blows with his arms.

You shouldn't stop the guy in that situation unless the guy gets rocked badly. I don't care if he takes a million shots on the arm, and a hundred pitty-pat, partially-blocked shots. If he's not hurt, don't stop it. Let the round expire, and give Werdum his 10-8 or 10-7 round.
