Thought it was a draw.

I had Rampage winning Rd1, Rd3, and Rd4. I had Forrest win Rd2 10-8, and win Rd 5.

Rds 3 and 5 were both close, so the judges must have given both of those to Forrest. I don't like the decision, though.

Oh and Machida is probably next for Forrest. I can't stand Machida, but he's got a style that can beat Forrest.

Machida as LHW champ. Wudda-thunk it?

I have no prob saying Machida will be the champ.

I had it 48-46 Griffin.

Also, I wanna thank all the experts who convinced me change my pick from Cote decision to Almeida submission. Changed it two days before the fight. Every single MMA sight said it was easy for Almeida. I did put some money on Cote, though.

It's very likely, provided Dana and co. actually give Machida a shot - which happens to be arguably doubtful.

You could say Machida fights much like Forrest's plan to fight Jackson was, only Machida is quicker and does it better. I would, anyway. Hell, call me crazy, but I'd love to see a Machida-Griffin fight.

Looking at that fight, I have to give three rounds to Forrest. I didn't see this one coming.

I wonder who has the reach? Neither one has one punch knockout power, so stamina might be an issue. Machida usually looks like he's in good shape, but I don't know if he's in championship shape or not. Also, can Forrest pressure him enough and make him work enough to test the stamina? Forrest would almost have to beat Machida at his own game - a tough thing to do.

This will be dobbed the "gameplan" era in the LHW division.
Whoever can execute their gameplan the best will be the LHW champ.
Weird.

Forrest is a pretty big guy, even at LHW. Tall, with decent range, so it wouldn't surprise me if he had a reach advantage. I'd say Machida is a fair bit quicker, though, so it's entirely possible that he'd be able to get in, land, and get out relatively unscathed.

I don't know if Forrest would be able to "bully" Machida around, either; Tito couldn't even do it to him, and look how Tito was able to muscle Forrest around in their fight when he got a hold of him.

Wand vs Forrest
Jackson vs Liddell 3
Jardine vs Rua.

I really like the match ups they could string together over the next 6 months.

I'd much rather see, in the now immediate future, Machida vs. Griffin, Wand vs. Jackson; Jardine vs Rua would actually be rather appealing. Then again, I'd just love to see a healthy Rua would make a return against just about anyone at this point.

I don't want to see Jackson-Liddell 3. Now, I realize that one could argue that Jackson-Liddell 3 is no different than Silva-Jackson 3, but I found the Silva-Jackson bouts more entertaining and more competitive - subjectively - hence why I would rather see those.

Just my 2 cents, really.

Good points, but I just really don't want to see another Silva/ Jackson fight until Jackson gets over this loss. I don't want to see him knee-raped in the face again.
Out of all of them, I'm glad we agree on Jardine-Rua. I think that'd be a good fight. You know Jardine will come in w/ a good gameplan, and Rua will be looking to re-assert himself; esp. against Forrest.

But yeah, basically.

I wouldn't say "transparent," I suppose. To me, that expression never really makes a whole lot of sense; the idea behind transparency is that you see through it to whatever is behind it, right?

I'd say it's opaque... much in the same way a massive sign - a neon sign, flashing on and off, if you will - is opaque.

Honestly, I don't much care for Liddell, but I suspect I'm terribly biased against him because of the typical meat-head UFC "Chuk Lidel is teh g8est!" type of fan. Plus, I'm of the opinion that he used to be a much better fighter when he wasn't so entirely reliant and focused on landing that single one-punch KO type shot.

Ah well. Regardless, there's still a bunch of great match-ups to be made in the future. I love it when things get stirred up like they were tonight.

LOL - I wasn't even thinking about you, but if the shoe fits......

All the MMA experts on the other sites (not on the forums) had it an easy win for Almeida. It swayed my opinion.
