I may kill myself on JTV if Clausen being drafted by my Rams is serious. Suh a Ram in '10.

Rams need an o-line like nobody's business and a QB for the future. DT will not change a thing.

I know what we need. But I have always believed when drafting in the first round, best player available, rather than drafting for need.

trade down and get an extra pick. This is the deepest OL/DL draft in like 50 years.

And as for the Clausen thing, Billy Devaney was saying the four highest rated for us are Clausen, Bradford, McCoy, and Suh. I think this year is interesting, because this is the first year I think the #1 overall pick is worth trading/there are buyers for it.

For the record, I would love to see you guys draft Gerhart, just for the lulz of having two honky RBs on the same team.

doesn't matter who we get a RB, the online isn't designed to open holes. But yeah, I know what you mean, two WHITE RB's? Thats unheard of.

You can build a defense around Suh. You defense backs won't have to cover for long with that sumbitch running around in the backfield.

We've got the 20th pick, hoping we go for the best DB available.
John Clayton had a good breakdown on why the Rams wouldn't pick Suh. Down to their scheme doesn't fit him.

when you're the worst team in the league, you change your freakin scheme for a player of his caliber IMO

DT drafted number 1 overall have not done well. Why would you want to make a DT the highest paid player. They should draft either Bradford or trade down. The second scenario is highly unlikely though.

they should take clausen. or better yet go the raiders route and pick the fastest player available

they have to trade down or take suh. i dont see bradford as the savior

No one is going to trade up though.
There are some teams that would trade up for Suh.

I doubt that. The asking price would be way to high to move up to the number one spot.

Im hoping Haden falls down enough for the niners to take him with their first pick. We can build the O-line after that.

Haden ran a 4.6....he's dropping to the mid teens

Whalp, we are taking Bradford. So here's how I see it shaking out
1-Bradford
2-Suh
3-McCoy
4-Okung
5-Berry
6-Bulaga
7-Clausen
8-Williams
9-Davis
10-McClain
11-Bryant
12-Kindle
13-Thomas
14-Spiller
15-Haden
Then I don't care from here.

Stafford got like 40 mil last year. At most, it will be 45, but more than likely, it'll be around 44.5

I always have thought that unless there was a guaranteed stud at the top of the draft board, that the #1 pick should trade down if they have many holes to fill. (And before you say, 'duh, every team with the #1 pick has many holes to fill', remember that New England gets Oakland's 1st round pick next year).
Clausen is pro-ready but I wouldn't take him #1 overall. Bradford is an Oklahoma QB (Heupel and Jason White turned out great) with a reoccurring shoulder injury. McCoy isn't even the best DT in the draft. Suh is a guaranteed very good pro. He would be my choice but I think St. Louis will take Bradford and try to get a franchise QB after passing up on Flacco and Sanchez the last couple of years.

And the New York Football Giants have the 15th pick and, my guess is, going to trade up into the top 12-ish to get Rolondo McClain. Hopefully.
And fuck this primetime draft bullshit. I used to love draft day, now they went and fucked that all up.

My mock was shit. Sergio Kindle is a Ram if we don't trade the 33rd pick.

A lot of people were wrong in their mocks.
Im glad that we drafted with need, its just never exciting to see we drafted an o line man. Im not going to be watching a game and be like OH THAT WAS A NICE DOUBLE TEAM HE STOPPED.

I was in no way implying that Clausen should be taken with the #1 pick. I personally think this draft is weak at QB.

I'm not sure if I am relieved or fucked that you guys took Iupati. I never thought him to be much more than a good run blocker, but against our pretty pourous D-Line, and with Gore being said RB to be blocked for, yikes.

Niners got Taylor Mays too. A nice guy to crush you if you make it past Patrick Willis.

I was saying this loooong ago. I was still hoping there was an off chance that we would take Suh, but that got crushed when we released Bulger. Then my hopes got up again when we traded Carriker. I can't fucking believe that we traded the guy we drafted in 07 already for a fucking 5th round pick basically, just because he was injured last year.
Mr. Dead Sexy

Mays sucks IMO.

Btw Buckner, is it worth a damn that we signed Fred Robbins?

Not only do I not like Bradford, but I don't like taking a QB #1 overall in general. Putting all the pressure on a young QB with presumably a terrible team around him is just setting him up for failure.
Add to this that next year's QB class is huge and the Rams will have probably a top 6 pick and it just doesn't make sense to me.

Giants used a 4 DT rotation, so I've never really seen him play every down. Solid, doesn't do anything great. Not better than Suh.

God damnit the Seahawks took Golden Tate.
Buckner1986
04-23-2010, 09:19 PM
Golden Tate is overrated. Maurice Stovall looked just as good when he was at ND. Danario Alexander will be the 2nd best WR from this class when he gets healthy.

Speedy WRs kill my Rams. Everytime. Burleson sucked, but had big games every freaking time he played us.

LOL. Nate Burleson

I swear to god, he either had a punt return, kick return, or 60 yard TD, or a combination of the three, every year.

Holy shit, I was hoping we'd take Murphy as soon as Spikes came off the board, and lookie that.

I don't like starting a young qb right away, even if he is your best chance at winning. 12 games in give him some time, maybe.
But look at the ten best teams last year at QB. Did one not have a proven QB aside from the Jets? Then look at the bottom ten. Point is, it's a QB league.
