And haye needs to fight a klitschko, HBO should do a show for free with one of the klits against povetkin, and haye against the winner of arreola/adamek, they both win and then the ppv would be huuuuge

i though haye and ruiz was a decent enough fight, didnt watch hopkins jones but by all accounts it was atrocious and hopkins should be embarrased

toney had some funny ass things to say about the fight in this interview, its classic, he says bernard should kill himself and if they fought he would launch his ugly snaggletooth ass into outer space, he also mentions bernards mom having sex with a goat

i watched the replay of Quintana vs Berto last night. Pretty good fight to watch.

i dont like the way berto comes in with his punches alot, hes fast, explosive and has some good pop but he seemed to leap in too outta control and ends up in the guys clinch when he could be keeping a good distance and just teeing off, he said he was rusty though and wasnt very pleased with his performance, him against shane woulda been a fun fight if it happened, i dont know where he is gonna go now, there arent alot of guys out there for him to fight

mayweather mosley undercard has been announced, alvarez is supposed to be the next big mexican superstar, ive never seen him fight but anytime you stick a mexican in the ring with a puerto rican there are gonna be fireworks, Ponce De Leon is always an exciting fighter, i dont know much about the other guys but judging by their records they seem like solid contendors and the fights should be interesting and hopefully a step up from the shitty undercards were used to seeing

Unbeaten in 32 pro fights, Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico’s Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (31-0-1, 23 KOs) has quickly developed a tremendous fan base and is rapidly moving in on a world title shot. With the NABF, WBO Latino, WBC Youth and WBA Fedecentro welterweight title belts already in his trophy case, it’s clear that the Mexican phenom is ready for the big time. Currently ranked fourth in the world by the WBC and WBO, Alvarez must first turn back the challenge of his toughest test to date, Jose Miguel Cotto, before moving closer to his dream of a world title shot.

The brother of boxing superstar Miguel Cotto, Jose Miguel Cotto (31-1-1, 23 KOs) is carving out his own niche in the fight game with an exciting style and a veteran’s savvy. A 1996 Puerto Rican Olympian, the Caguas native is unbeaten in five fights since his hard-fought decision loss to Juan “Baby Bull” Diaz in a 2006 lightweight world title bout. Now fighting at 147 pounds, the 32-year-old feels that now is the time to shine and wants to prove it against Alvarez on May 1.

Known for his knockout power and warrior’s heart, former Junior Featherweight World Champion Daniel Ponce De Leon (38-2, 32 KOs) has reinvented himself as a featherweight contender and with wins over Marlon “Rata” Aguilar, Roinet Caballero and Orlando “El Fenomeno” Cruz in his new weight class. A May 1 victory over the crafty Cornelius Lock should put him on a fast track to becoming a two-division world champion.

Winner of three of his last four bouts, including victories over 14-0 Juan Garcia, 27-1 Roger “Speedy” Gonzalez and 16-0-1 Orlando “El Fenomeno” Cruz, Detroit’s Cornelius Lock (19-4-1, 12 KOs) is rapidly becoming a fighter opposing pugilists definitely don’t want to see across the ring from them on fight night. The 31–year-old southpaw plans on spoiling Daniel Ponce De Leon’s night this May.

Ranked fourth in the world by the WBA, Argentinean warrior Hector David Saldivia (33-1, 26 KOs) has been making waves in the welterweight division for the last two years. Winner of the WBA Fedelatin title, he has defeated the likes of Omar “Tito” Weis, Ricardo Cano, Daudy Bahari and Luis Rodriguez. On May 1, “El Tigre” makes his United States debut against Said Ouali.

A native of Morocco now fighting out of Las Vegas, Said Ouali (26-3, 18 KOs) gets a chance to perform in front of his adopted hometown crowd on May 1 when he takes on Argentina’s Hector David Saldivia. Winner of 12 of his last 13 bouts, this southpaw standout who is ranked number five in the world by the WBA is well aware that he can catapult himself even higher up in the 147-pound rankings with a victory over Saldivia.

lol at paul williams talking about cintron at their press conference

“It’s gonna be a war and I’m preparing myself for a war. In my mind I’m gonna have no sympathy for him in the ring. After the fight is over, okay, I hope he’ll be all right. I wish him all the luck but, come Saturday night when it’s time to get in that ring I’m gonna try and break his ribs, his jaw and I’m gonna try and kill him to death. That’s how I really feel. All the time I spent in training camp away from my family and my friends, it’s in my mind I’m gonna go get him, hands down. And I’m not gonna say no more.”

Work had me busy but now imma back. Latest out of Team Pac is that eventhough he won the election, he still wants to throw chingasos with Mayweather and then retire after that fight. I'll keep you guys up to date when i get some more info on the whole situation.

Amir Khan vs. Paulie Malignaggi

who you got Americanborn??

Paulie can take a punch, but has pillows for fists. Imma go with Khan by decision, but i'm biased to Wildcard boxers.

Andre Ward vs Allan Green June 19th

any comments/predictions on this fight??

Imma go with Ward by decision, Green is a tough guy but I really liked the way Ward pushed the fight against Kessler.

AMERICAN BONES
05-19-2010, 12:15 AM
Ward wins a wide decision IMO, I'm gonna go check out the benavidez fight next Saturday, that kids got me excited as hell I can't wait to see him in person, how do his sparring sessions with khan go? I've seen some clips of him working with manny but manny seems to be clownin, but he's just running through these bums what's his ti****ble competition wise? I know roach likes to take his guys along slowly but that's gonna be hard with the coverage he's getting and the way he's just destroying guys

El Vato Loco
05-19-2010, 12:34 AM
I see Jose as the future, a bit green still, but tons of potential. He was supposed to just come in as a sparring guy, but Freddy took a liking to him. They're gonna take their time with him, he's still adjusting to the glove sizes and no head gear boxing. He's still lacking some strength, but Ariza is working with him on his strength and conditioning, so he will only get better.

He held his own pretty good against khan, but when i saw them spar, Amir was going 100% and Jose was only allowed to go 75%. And yeah, Pac was just clowning Jose.

On a side note, Jose has been the only boxer to keep up with Pac during the Brea park run (the run moved from griffith park to brea park, too many fans at griffith now).

word......i'm all aboard for that fight

I'm actually going to the Marquez vs Vasquez fight this weekend at Staples. Wasn't planning on it, but my work has a box at Staples for any event. 1300 employees here, but not so many boxing fans here at work, so I was able to get 2 tix, and my 2 work buds from team pac (one is Pac's driver and the other one is a boxer Ernel Fontanilla, he's got a vid or 2 on youtube) got tix also, should be fun.

I wish i could get Laker tix, but those are only for the big dogs

I heard that if you fight a Klitschko, they make you sign a contract that you have to give them an immediate rematch in the city of their choosing if they lose to you. You don't sign it, then the deal's off.

El Vato Loco

didn't want to start a thread for this fyi, so i'll just post it here

Picked up Buboy, Concepcion, and Andrade this morning at Wildcard to drop them off at the airport, since they will be cornering some Team Pacman boxers this weekend in Mexico.

On the 'upcoming fights' board, they had Pac fighting November 13th. I called up my source Kathy at Top Rank to confirm, and she said that the date is official.

No opponent and no place where this fight will go down has been announced yet.

Money is still on top of the list, and Top Rank has been talking to Margacheato in case the fight with Money don't work out.

Other names thrown out there.....Winner of Cotto/Foreman and Mosley

AMERICAN BONES
06-01-2010, 11:18 PM
ive heard chavez jr if he beats duddy would fight the foreman cotto winner, he would get starched by both IMO, and didnt pac already turn down a fight with foreman? i guess cotto at 154 would be a little interesting and be another title for pac, but i dont think that rematch will draw well and it makes team pac look like punks, forcing cotto to fight for his WW belt at a catchweight then fighting him again almost 10lbs heavier, assuming they dont ask for another catchweight........really the only fight for pac is mayweather IMO, he can take other fights but they will be fairly pointless unless he defends at jww vs bradley or alexander....i dont see him getting in the ring with foreman since roach shot that down months ago, while mayweather has guys like paul williams and sergio martinez, two more guys i dont think roach will let near manny. not that any of it matters, i wouldnt be surprised if arum never lets manny fight out of his own stable, where really there is no one for him to fight, i wouldnt be surpised if old bobby decides to put together pac chavez

AMERICAN BONES
06-01-2010, 11:20 PM
do you know, are they actively negotiating with mayweather right now?

Vlad
06-08-2010, 08:49 PM
I've heard Floyd's team has the last word now, it seems Pac agreed to all the terms.

Chave Jr. is in deed rumored to fight Cotto now, it will be interesting.

Omar Chavez won a very close decision 2 weeks ago, the guy he fought againt was very legin and almost KO'd Omar. lol

Vlad
06-08-2010, 08:50 PM
Cotto looked pretty good vs Foreman, I like Cotto he seems like a very cool dude.

El Vato Loco
06-10-2010, 01:57 AM
do you know, are they actively negotiating with mayweather right now?

They started negotiating before money even fought marquez, the big problem is that Arum and Money hate each other so much, that they won't let the other guy get the upper hand. Pac is all for this fight, but it is now official that Margacheato will take the fight against Pac if money don't sign. Initial offer against margacheato is at 80/20 in favor of Pac.

Vlad
06-10-2010, 11:10 AM
Margarito gave a great show in his last fight, but I dont think he is at a top level. We'll see.

AMERICAN BONES
06-10-2010, 11:23 AM
fuck man, there are so many other fight id rather see pac take besides margo, the only fight i wanna see margo in is against cotto. uncle bob isnt gonna let manny fight anyone outta his stable though unless it floyd, and they hate each other so much that might not even happen. id love to see pac go back and defend his ring belt at junior welter if the mayweather fight doesnt happen, against alexander or bradley, but they both have fights coming up and manny is fighting in the fall, id rather see him fight berto than margo though, unify some belts

Vlad
06-10-2010, 11:34 AM
Yeah I like Margo and all but he shouldnt be put up there with the tops, at least not until he fights some -A level fighters to see if he still hast it, Cotto will be a good call for Margo.
