Holy shit, I mean this is fucking amazing

Looks like Australia may become a new hot bed for MMA. Hot off the heels of the UFC's debut in the southern hemisphere, Impact Fighting Championships plans on bringing their show to Brisbane, Australia on July 10th and bouts are beginning to roll in.

Josh Barnett announced this week that he would be fighting on the card against Brazilian Geronimo dos Santos and MMANews.com has learned of another potential match up for the card down under.

A couple of UFC Hall of Famers have been offered a match on the card as MMANews.com spoke to a source close to the Mark Coleman camp and they have stated that Coleman was offered, and has accepted a match against Ken Shamrock.

Coleman last fought for the UFC at UFC 109 against Randy Couture, losing in the second round via a rear naked choke in what can be only described as a piss poor performance and one that likely led to his last bout in the UFC's Octagon.

Shamrock hasn't fought in over a year and had been suspended following that bout for testing positive for banned substances. He is 3-7 in his last ten bouts and is likely coming to the end of his MMA career.

Coleman by ferocious ground and pound stoppage

Shamrock must be fighting to pay the UFC back for what they sued him for.

Both will gas a minute in. I remember Goldberg saying Coleman has never won a fight where his opponent has attempted a submission. At the same time, Shamrock has never won a fight where his opponent has landed a punch. Not sure Coleman can throw a punch. That said, I think Shamrock takes this.

anyone know what the testing situation is like over there?

if the aussie athletic commissions are civilized to the point of not forcing gentlemen sport enthusiasts like Shamrock and Barnett to piss in a cup like common criminals, then they may be able to peel off a few of the big name horsebeef consumers and pick up where the japs let off.

i cant believe Barnett is fighting on this card. will he ever be relevant in MMA again, or does he just want money?

a year ago, he was touted going into the Fedor fight. now he's just chasing checks i guess.
