Ward vs Green fucking boring lame ass fight.

I also watched Rodel Mayol (philipines) vs Omar Niño (Mexico), now that is real boxing match.

Next Saturday, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs John Duddy, I got Chavez on the 10th by Duddy not being able to continue, you watch.

Also the come back of Barrera, that will be fun to watch.

Vlad

So who of you is picking Jhon "they think i have a chance" Duddy?

I heard he was tranning with Roach, but is Roach going ot be in Chavez corner for this fight?

And Chavez is not on the juice.

I have Chavez in the early rounds, Duddy is going to come out trowing punches like a maniac and Chavez is going to catch him early.

After the fight, his promoters where talking Cotto for Dec. I know you are going to say I’m crazy but I think Chavez can be competitive vs Cotto.

Especially if he is going to fully trained with Roach now.

Props for Duddy for not going down, he took a good beating and didn’t went down.

Chavez Jr has to be one of the most protected fighters ever. It will be interesting to see if he's finally ready to step up in competition. Cotto, even though not the same fighter he was before the Margarito fight, is still a big leap up in competition.

Chavez Jr needs more fights before he can contend with the big boys of boxing. A couple more fights should help.

Vlad
06-29-2010, 01:54 PM
Chavez jr. had zero amateur fights, he jumped right into pro fighting, its only fair he fought some none champion material right?

But I do think they should wait a little more before facing him to the top level fighters, he can fight for some plastic world belt IMO.

so i just listened to bob arums midnight conference call about the may/pac fight, he wouldnt talk contract terms that were offered, he says they had no direct contact with anyone from the mayweather camp throughout the entire "negotiation", and when i say no contact i mean neither side once spoke to the other side directly, all the talks were going through ross greenburg the pres of HBO sports.

arum also said the fight is not dead, negotiations are still open, but he will now be pursuing fights with cotto and margarito as well as mayweather. arum also said that he is not surprised in the least that mayweather hasnt accepted the fight yet, and he doesnt blame him for not making a decision due to his uncle/trainers upcoming trial. arum said he is positive mayweather wants to fight pacquiao, and he is sure it will happen, if not in november then sometime next year. arum mentioned it multiple times that he doesnt blame mayweather for not making a decision and that the media shouldnt either, which i found strange.

arum was full of shit plenty of times during the conference, he claimed they did not look into any other fights but the mayweather fight, then later said they have been looking into venues for a fight with marg or cotto. when people asked if marg deserved a fight like this since he is suspended in the US after he got caught loading his gloves against mosely and arum got pissed and cut those people off. he also said that guys like timothy bradley and paul williams were not options for pacquiao becasue they arent promoted correctly and dont have big enough followings, yet hes lets manny fight guys from top rank like david diaz and joshua clottey with even smaller fan bases than the other guys, arum basically said no to anyone outside of his top rank stable of fighters

JENNA: Now Floyd, taking things back to your son and his potential fight with Pacquiao. If you could speak to Pacquiao right now face to face what would you say to him?

MAYWEATHER SR: I’d tell him he’s a fagg*t. You know what I’d tell him. Go stick your head up under your dress. That’s what I would tell him. I’m being real with you. I’d tell him he ain’t nothing but a sissy and a little girl. They got, as a matter of fact I’ve seen a thing in one of these books. Hold on just a second. Hey Lloyd! Where’s that book at about all of those athletes? That book about all of the athletes? You know the one, it had Pacquiao in there and Kobe in there? Well you know what, I’ll tell you just like the book says it. Hold on one second here. Here it is right here, here’s the book. It has nothing to do with no sissy. Just hold on just a second. I got something right here. I’m trying to find something right here. This is exactly what I would tell him. It’s in this book here. It’s “The Twenty Biggest Bitches in the Sport”. That’s what it says, “The Twenty Biggest Bitches in the Sport”. Guess who’s right here? Manny Pacquiao. It says “Biggest Bitches in the Sport” and that’s what he is, a bitch.

Best card of the year this weekend, rematch of last years fight of the year Juan Manuel Marquez vs Juan Diaz and a GREAT UNDERCARD for once.

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2p1QJ0ZEpp8&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2p1QJ0ZEpp8&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Major League Baseball blacked out in Las Vegas the three-game series between the San Diego Padres and the Pittsburgh Pirates that was held at Pittsburgh’s PNC Park over the weekend. The rule, in which Vegas is blacked out as San Diego’s “home market,” is zany, makes zero sense and it misses a significant marketing opportunity: “Hey, fans, look, not only do you get every major league game when you buy the ‘Extra Innings’ package, but we’ll throw in the games of a Triple-A team at no extra cost when you pay in full!”

It was frustrating, though, to not be able to watch, especially for the handful of us Pirates fans out there who are interested in seeing the development of rookies like Pedro Alvarez and Jose Tabata.

This frustration is nothing, though, compared to what it is like to be a boxing fan. Boxing fans are the most patient people on earth. We deal with zero free fights on network television. Not only do we have to buy cable to see the fights, we have to buy premium cable to see the stars fight.

And even after paying the $300 or so a year to add HBO and Showtime to your satellite or cable bill, you have to pay more if you want to see the really good fights. Let me introduce you to the wonderful world of pay-per-view.

For a minimum of $50 (or another $10 if you are living in the 21st century and have an HDTV), you can buy the biggest fights. Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Shane Mosley? Pay-per-view.

The upcoming Manny Pacquiao vs. Antonio Margarito? Yep, pay-per-view.

And that’s only the major fights on pay-per-view. You can buy a card just about every weekend if you want to reach into your wallet. This year, I’ve paid $14.95 to watch Wladimir Klitschko sleepwalk to a win over Eddie Chambers (who was even sleepier). I’ve paid $24.95 to watch a Wilfredo Vazquez fight and, gulp, another $50 to watch Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., among many others.

Most of the time, there is just one fight worth seeing. Occasionally, there is a second. Surprisingly, the cheaper the price of the broadcast, often the more compelling the fights are on paper. Top Rank’s “Latin Fury” series frequently has quality bouts up and down the card and is usually cheaper by at least $10 than the HBO Pay-Per-View offerings.

That, though, is an anomaly in the business and particularly so for Top Rank. The company’s septuagenarian promoter, Bob Arum, has contended for years that no matter how many bouts there are on a pay-per-view card, only one matters when it comes to sales: the main event. The buying decision, Arum insists, is determined almost solely by whether fans are interested in the main event.

If they want to see Mayweather or Pacquiao fight (of course, not against each other; that would make too much sense), they’ll buy no matter the dreck that all too frequently fills the two-and-a-half hours on the broadcast before the stars enter the ring.

Most other boxing promoters have adopted that stance, though Top Rank and Golden Boy are the only ones who regularly stage major pay-per-view events. The result, though, is an outlay of $50 or $60 for a card filled with one-sided bouts. Promoters far too often use the undercard to show their most promising prospects in set-up matches, in which the opponent has little ability, or incentive, to win. The sole purpose of those kinds of fights is to build up the prospect’s record, though true fans would far rather see those prospects in fights that actually test their abilities.

On Saturday, Golden Boy Promotions is going to try something that, among its peers, must be considered radical: Its pay-per-view card will feature fights that seem worth watching. The main event of Golden Boy’s card features a rematch between Juan Manuel Marquez and Juan Diaz, a bout that was chosen as the 2009 Fight of the Year by the Boxing Writers Association of America.

The show will air on HBO Pay-Per-View and will set you back $50 or $60, depending upon if you opt for the high-definition broadcast. This, though, isn’t one of those cards where you’re safe if you barbecue and chat with your friends until moments before the main event. This is one of those rare pay-per-view offerings that has, you know, intriguing fights on it other than the main event.

“I really wanted to put together an undercard that would be meaningful from top to bottom and have one compelling fight after the other,” Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer said.

That’s a great start, but here comes the kicker:

“I read all of these blogs and I sometimes hear fans complain about the undercards,” Schaefer said. “So I decided to invest the money on the undercard and see if doing that would help us push the pay-per-view needle.”

None of the undercard fights figures to be the 2010 Fight of the Year, but there are three attractive bouts. Danny Jacobs, a top Golden Boy prospect who in his young career has been fed more cupcakes than a fat kid on a picnic, will meet Dmitry Pirog for a vacant middleweight title. Robert Guerrero will move up to super lightweight to take on Joel Casamayor in a battle not only of former world champions, but also of former sparring partners. And one-time super hot prospect Jorge Linares will meet Rocky Juarez.

None of them, at least going in, will make you forget Hagler-Hearns or Corrales-Castillo, but they’re good, solid matches. They’re far better than the awful bouts you got beneath the Mayweather-Mosley fight on May 1 or the Pacquiao-Joshua Clottey fight on March 13.

Schaefer is going to use the card’s showing as a barometer of whether it’s worth the expense to beef up the undercard. It costs more to put on Guerrero-Casamayor and Linares-Juarez than it does Daniel Ponce de Leon-Cornelius Lock and Said Ouali-Hector Saldivia, which was underneath Mayweather-Mosley.

It’s not fair, in a way, because the paying customer has been conditioned to expect less-than-stellar undercards for years. That, though, is business.

On most pay-per-view undercards, the promoters could act like Major League Baseball and black the fights out, and probably 2 percent of the paying customers would notice. This time, there are fights that actually have intrigue.

Whether the trend continues is open to a great debate. Just don’t expect the deep pay-per-view undercards to continue unless Saturday’s show does far better than expected at the box office.

Great Saturday night fight at Puerto Rico (Mantes homeland) Giovanni Segura smashed the shit out off by the undefeated Ivan Calderon.

After 3 years of hiding and avoiding Segura, Calderon finally accepted the fight, Segura knew he had to accept every single crazy demands those Puertorican fags where going to put on the table, he agreed to everything they ask for; bigger ring, bigger gloves, the fight to be made in Puerto Rico etc etc etc....

As usual when a Puertorican faces a Mexican warrior Ivan got on his byicle and ran the whole fight, Giovanni chased him all over hitting him on the midsection for the of the entire 8 rounds. Just like Cotto vs Margo, Ivan went to his knees and wanted no more of Segura and didn’t got up. It was as if I was watching Margo vs Cotto all over again. Great night.

Just to clear something, Canelo didn’t got dropped by Cotto, he got rocked but didn’t went down at all.

He showed great skills again this past Saturday, he show composure and patience, as soon as he saw Baldomir hut he went for the kill, great left hook to Baldomir's chin; he went down like a cow, face to the floor.

Then came the boring gay ass fight of Mora vs Mosley, fucking queers.

Omar Chavez fought and won by TKO, Zorrita Soto defeated his opponent with an exelent boxing lesson. Travieso Arce also fought and won but some stupid judge fucked up when adding points and give the victory to the other guy, the result if going to be appealed and Travieso will be awarded with the victory.

All and all a great nigh for Mexico’s boxing

Cotto looked fat and bigger than Canelo in that fight, but I don’t have the info on who actually weighted more came fight night.

After he fight he was ask about a championship fight, he said not yet, I think he is going to have 2 more fights before going for any of the top 4 in that division.

Im sure by the end of next year he will face Chavez Jr. which is going to paralyze Mexico, everyone and I mean everyone is going to watch that fight, not even soccer games will be as big as this event.

Junior middleweight contender James Kirkland was released from Bastrop Federal Prison outside of Austin, Texas, his hometown, on Thursday and planned to resume training immediately, co-manager Cameron Dunkin told ESPN.com.

Kirkland (25-0, 22 KOs) will spend the next few months at a halfway house in Austin, but will be allowed to train. Dunkin said he would also look for a part-time job.

"He's out. He's very happy and had a chance to see his two kids," Dunkin said. "He'll be in a halfway house in Austin. He's already checked in there. He'll go through the weeklong orientation process. He's going to look for a job to start earning a check. But he'll be able to go and train as long as he's back by the curfew. He's going to start training immediately.

He's unbelievably happy to be out [of prison], as you can imagine. He doesn't want to go back there ever again."

Kirkland, 26, was one of the most fearsome rising 154-pound contenders in the world when he was incarcerated in April 2009 after pleading guilty to gun possession by a convicted felon.

He was supposed to be released on Sept. 17, but it was delayed because there was a lack of beds at the halfway house.

"I've never seen him this happy, this jovial, this talkative," said co-manager Michael Miller, who met with Kirkland a couple of hours after his release. "I'm telling you, he's saying all the right things. He said, 'Michael, I understand my past and my mistakes. I can't wait to get back in the gym. I missed it and I can't wait.'"

Kirkland's return to the ring was expected to take place Nov. 6 in Newark, N.J., on the untelevised portion of Zab Judah's HBO fight against Lucas Matthysse. However, with the release coming two weeks later than expected, Dunkin said Kirkland won't return on that card. Instead, Golden Boy Promotions will put him on a December card to give him more time to train and adjust to life out of prison.

"We're not going to push him," Dunkin said. "There's no reason to push it. We'll go ahead and have him fight in December and make sure he's right. There's no reason to rush it."

One of the biggest questions surrounding his comeback is whether Ann Wolfe will continue training him. It doesn't look like it. Kirkland's arrest was a big issue between them.

"When I saw James, I told him, 'You two need to work this out, whatever your issues are," Miller said. "I don't know exactly what the issues are and I'm glad I don't know. But he knows needs to visit with her and they need to get things cleared up one way or the other. I'd like nothing more than to hear, 'We've settled our differences and we're going forward.' But I don't know."

If she doesn't return to the corner, Wolfe will still be paid her 7.5 percent interest in his management contract, Dunkin said.

"James is going to find a gym in Austin and I'm sending him equipment," Dunkin said. "The trainer stuff, we have to talk about that. We don't know who it's going to be."

Miller said Kirkland weighed 172 pounds when he was released and "looked like he could fight tomorrow."

He has not fought since stopping Joel "Love Child" Julio in the sixth round on HBO in March 2009. He was scheduled to fight on the pay-per-view undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-Ricky Hatton fight in May 2009, but was arrested shortly before the fight.

Kirkland was on probation for a 2003 armed robbery conviction when he was arrested after buying a firearm, using his own identification, at a gun show near Austin. The weapon was discovered during a traffic stop. Because Kirkland was a convicted felon, he was barred from possessing a gun, making the offense more serious and resulting in the jail time.

Shite bag maynever fight again

http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/6893/yamamoto.jpg

MANILA, Philippines – Boxing historian Bert Sugar thinks boxing fans may never see Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight Philippine pride Manny Pacquiao because of the American boxer’s legal troubles.

“He’s been called Floyd ‘Maynever’. He may never fight again,” the well known boxing figure said in a slideshow report posted by writer Chris Robinson on Examiner.com.

Sugar said the unbeaten boxer from Michigan has never shown any real intention to fight Pacquiao, despite several posturings on the internet, including his infamous video diatribe against the Filipino boxing star. (Click here for related story)

“He didn’t seem to want to fight Pacquiao and he may never fight again depending on the charges,” said Sugar.

The boxing historian said that aside from Mayweather’s problems with the law, the American boxer may also have other “problems.”

“I can’t comment on [his legal issue], I’m not a psychiatrist. But he does seem to have problems,” Sugar said.

Mayweather is facing charges for allegedly beating up his former girlfriend Josie Harris. If convicted of all the charges, the unbeaten boxer could face more than 30 years in jail.

Pacquiao’s promoter, Top Rank’s Bob Arum, had aggressively negotiated to arrange a multi-million dollar fight between the Filipino and Mayweather.

The first round of talks saw the American demanding that both he and Pacquiao undergo blood testing close to fight night, which was rejected by the Filipino champion.

However, when Pacquiao acceded to this demand during the second round of talks, Mayweather’s camp denied that they were negotiating for the fight.

Pacquiao, now a congressman representing Sarangani province, eventually decided to face Antonio Margarito of Mexico on November 13.

Andre Ward will have a new opponent on November 27 after Andre Dirrell pulled out with an alleged undisclosed injury. Ward and Dirrell (former Olympic teammates) were originally scheduled to meet September 25, but no agreement could be reached between the respective camps and the bout was rescheduled for November 27. Ken Hershman, Executive Vice President and General Manager of SHOWTIME Sports, said today that Ward’s fight will go on as scheduled against an opponent to be named and a decision wil be made whether that fight will be a part of the tournament or not. Win or lose, Ward will advance to the semifinal win or lose based on tournament points he has already earned. Dirrell’s departure makes the November 6 Super Six bout between Allan Green and newcomer Glen Johnson even more significant as the winner will likely advance to the semifinal.

The result was a highly entertaining 53 second knockout by the hands of Michael Jimenez. Jimenez, 167, landed an absolutely crushing right hand that put out Lewis on his feet. i dont mind the judah fight, its a name and hes still got a little left in the tank, good stay busy fight before the big one with the alexander/bradley winner, oits not like he has many options in the division and i dont see him fighting vic ortiz at this point, id rather see judah then a prescott rematch which has also been mentioned, that guy is a fucking bum

How rare is what we'll see Saturday night when Devon Alexander and Timothy Bradley Jr. meet to unify their junior welterweight titles?

Rare.

In a fight that boxing fans have demanded for more than a year, Bradley and Alexander will become only the third pair of undefeated American fighters to face each other in a unification fight, and the first in 24 years.

The other two: Mike Tyson (then 30-0) against Tony Tucker (34-0) in a 1987 heavyweight championship unification bout, and Donald Curry (23-0) against Milton McCrory (27-0-1) in a 1985 welterweight unification clash.

"This is the biggest fight outside of [Manny] Pacquiao versus [Floyd] Mayweather," an excited Alexander said. "Everybody wants to see this fight. Two undefeated champions going at it toe-to-toe. It's going to be an amazing fight."

Said Bradley: "This fight has been building for about a year now, and I think fight fans are getting crazy about it, and boxing writers. Including myself. Regardless of what anybody said -- that I was running and that I was scared -- I knew exactly what I was doing, and now look at the magnitude of this fight. For me holding out, we are both going to get blessed after this fight. The winner is going to be a superstar."

ThE Alexander-Bradley winner will also stake his claim to being the best in a deep 140-pound weight class that also includes such notable fighters as titleholder Amir Khan, former titlist Zab Judah, Marcos Maidana and Victor Ortiz.

While Alexander-Bradley was difficult to put together, it is at least happening, much to the delight of boxing fans.

"The people want to see Pacquiao and Mayweather and they can't get it. They want to see [Wladimir] Klitschko-[David] Haye and they can't get it," said Kevin Cunningham, Alexander's trainer and manager. "The next biggest one out there is Alexander versus Bradley. The winner of this fight will be the next American superstar in this sport."

They will meet at the Silverdome in Pontiac, Mich., in the first HBO fight of the year (10 p.m. ET).

It is the sort of high-stakes, big money fight -- each fighter will earn approximately $1.2 million -- that the 27-year-old Bradley (26-0, 11 KOs) and 23-year Alexander (21-0, 13 KOs) have wanted.

"I do think the state of boxing right now is at a low," Bradley said. "Until you have great fights like this in the 140 division -- I think it's going to bring it back. We are the most talented division in boxing and we are going to bring it back just like the old days. If it's an awesome fight like I think it's going to be we are going to do it again for the boxing fans and for the world. This is the best fight in boxing, because you are not going to see Manny and Floyd fight any time soon."

Bradley worked his way up through the club shows in Southern California and got a title shot in 2008. He went to England and dethroned hometown fighter Junior Witter with a decision victory.

Bradley, a native of Palm Springs, Calif., has made four defenses against quality opponents such as Kendall Holt, Nate Campbell and Lamont Peterson. He even unified two belts when he survived two knockdowns against Holt, but was later stripped of one of them because of boxing's brutal politics.

But throughout his title reign, Bradley has been climbing the pound-for-pound rankings. He knows how significant Saturday's fight is.

"I am excited about this fight. It's been a long journey," said Bradley, who, like Alexander, has been fighting professionally since 2004. "This is the biggest fight of my career, and I'm ready to seal the deal. I am going to seize the moment. It may be the biggest opportunity I may ever get in my whole entire life and I definitely want to be victorious in this fight."

Alexander has a bit less experience at the highest level of boxing than Bradley does, but the St. Louis native has also been on a strong recent run.

He met Witter for a vacant belt in August 2009 and utterly dominated him, beating him far worse than Bradley had. Alexander made Witter quit after eight lopsided rounds.

In his first defense, Alexander unified belts by scoring a sensational one-punch knockout of usually iron-chinned Juan Urango in the eighth round. In August, Alexander claimed a decision win against former titlist Andriy Kotelnik in a very difficult and close fight in St. Louis.

Like Bradley, Alexander was also stripped of one of his alphabet belts, but that has not stopped him from still wanting to fight the other titleholders.

"It is my time now and I'm going to seize the moment," Alexander said. "Most 23-year-olds don't get the opportunity to unify titles. This will be my [second] time unifying titles. I am Alexander 'The Great,' so that's why they call me that. I am seeking greatness, and why not do it early? Not when I'm 27, 28 or 29. Why not do it now? I have been bred to do this.

"This is the moment I have been waiting for. I don't let myself get all hyped. I don't let my emotions get involved. I show my emotions in the ring so I don't need to do it outside the ring."

Bradley and Alexander both said they have been keeping an eye on each other for years, figuring they might one day meet. They never fought as amateurs because Bradley was always in a bigger weight division.

So when did Bradley realize that someday they would fight?

"Early in my career, when I was 15-0 and watching him on TV," Bradley said. "He was [also] watching me on TV. We were moving up the ranks and in the same weight class and I knew that some day we were going to have to get it on."

Alexander said it was the same for him.

"I saw Tim on TV all the time when we were climbing up the ladder, and at one time he was ahead of me, and I knew I needed to catch up."

Alexander is there now, and one of the best. So too is Bradley.

about sums it up
Talk about a disappointment. Bradley-Alexander, the first unification fight between two undefeated American titleholders in 24 years and only the third ever, was supposed to launch the winner, and maybe even the loser, to stardom, if it had been a great fight. Instead, it was a giant dud.

The fight, fought before a crowd of 6,247 at the Silverdome, was competitive all the way with several very close, hard-to-score rounds. But the fight was not pleasing to watch. It was messy and never found a flow, and it ended in ugly fashion after yet another head-butt badly rattled Alexander. He had already been cut over the right eye (needed four stitches) by Bradley in the third round from a head clash. They banged and bumped heads throughout the fight, something that has become all too common in Bradley's fights because he is usually shorter than his opponents and has a tendency to lead with his skull. Then came another head collision in the 10th round, this one opening a cut over Alexander's left eye (two more stitches). Alexander did not react well to this one. He complained of a burning sensation as the ringside doctor examined him. Ultimately, he submitted, passively allowing referee Frank Garza and Dr. Peter Samet to end the fight.

St. Louis' Alexander is only 23 years old and maybe he will still mature, but the way the fight ended left a bad taste all around. As much hype as the fight received and as much hope as there was for a memorable battle, watching a fighter essentially quit in the biggest bout of his life is disappointing. Of course, Alexander was hurt by the head-butt. Nobody disputes that. However, the greatest boxers are the ones who find a way to overcome those difficult moments. Alexander didn't.

Bradley, meanwhile, continued to get the job done. He's a physical specimen who does not seem to do anything outstanding, but does everything well. The 27-year-old from Palm Springs, Calif., landed enough right hands and applied enough pressure to negate Alexander's right jab and outstanding uppercut to unify 140-pound titles for the second time in his career. The first time he unified a title, he was stripped. By beating Alexander, he regained that belt and solidified his hold on the No. 1 spot in the deep division. Since there is virtually zero chance that HBO will exercise its option for a rematch, Bradley will move on, perhaps to a July unification bout with England's Amir Khan. That's a big fight and the one that appears most likely, if Khan comes through an April 16 interim bout. There was some talk after the fight about Alexander facing Marcos Maidana, who lost to Khan in December, in a de facto consolation fight of the unofficial tournament going on in the division.

All in all, it was wonderful to see Bradley-Alexander get made, which was no easy task. HBO deserves credit for standing behind it. The fighters deserve credit for accepting such a tough opponent (even though they both made their first million-dollar paydays for it), and promoters Gary Shaw and Don King deserve credit for their willingness to work with each other. And how about a tip of the cap to the folks at the Silverdome, who are looking to re-establish their dormant building as a venue that can attract events of all kinds. They put up a site fee of about $600,000 to lure the fight, which obviously had no local nexus. But they busted their butts and put on a first-class event. It's just a shame it did not live up to the hype.
