The best thing about the merger is that the UFC can dump some of the shit fights they had as filler, and dump the non-title fights as main events. The 135 and 145 fighters put on the most exciting fights anyways, so they should be in the big show.

The bad thing is the exciting, but not quite UFC level, fighters at 155 in the WEC are either going to get mauled or be let go. Henderson and Cerrone can be decent in the UFC right now, but a year or two they wouldn't have lasted long. Fighters like Njokuani, Roller, Castillo, and Shalorus are fun to watch, but they aren't UFC level yet (or may never be). Pettis might be ready, if they bring him along slow.

It'll greatly improve the UFC, that's for sure. They can put on a decent UFN for a change, too.

You're probably right. However, I'd rather that they cut some of the useless fights out of the higher divisions.

If a lot of those fighters who are fun to watch, but not UFC level, get cut, then that will make Strikeforce and Bellator much better at 155. Strikeforce is already planning Melendez/Thompson III - it's time for some new blood there.
