How does Mir warrant a title match when he hasn't beaten anybody of relevance in the longest time. A win over Lesnar shouldn't get you a title match. I think the UFC needs to start opening their checkbooks in order to acquire some new top talent or else this division is going to be owned my Big Nog for a very long time.

Since his return he's lost to Marcio Cruz and Vera. He barely beat Dan Christison. He gets nearly knocked out by a guy in his 2nd MMA fight (Lesnar), and his other win is over Hardonk, who has absolutely no ground game.

I thought the UFC still had Arlovski. With Sylvia gone, he should be next in line. After that, Werdum and Vera maybe. A guy who just lost to Cruz and barely beat Christison shouldn't be getting a title shot this soon.

Mir is getting the opportunity to cash in on beating Lesner, the casual fans are the one's the UFC are looking to market this to. Besides, Mir was a former champ and as you see the UFC has a history of letting former champs get a shot out of nowhere (Couture).

I think it will be a good fight, NOG should win by the 3rd, but there will be some great BJJ skills on display.

Good question. The guy was the champ, got in a bad bike wreck that should have cost him his career and has been battling back ever since. The man never lost his title in the ring and therefore is as deserving as anyone of this shot.

Fixed. Vera needs to put down the twinkies and go to LHW. He was bullied the entire fight by Sylvia, and prior to that, his best win was a fat Frank Mir. Nog would absolutely tool him, no questions asked. The only thing is though, that Herring will have faced Nog 4 times. Granted, he should have won the third, because that head kick was fucking sweet and had Nog KO'ed, but he didn't finish.
