I don't think it was late hit it was so close to him scoring, Carter was coming in for the hit and Salmela scored a split second before, I don't think it could have been avoided. The worst part is that Salmela had no idea Carter was coming in for the hit so he just got fucking blind sided.

They said later in the game that he was up and walking around so hopefully there he doesn't have any serious injuries.

The Rangers, coming off one of their best games of the season Saturday against the Devils, could be without their best offensive player tonight.<p> </p><br> Marian Gaborik suffered a deep cut on his right leg when he collided with goalie Henrik Lundqvist at practice yesterday and might sit out tonight's meeting with the Predators at the Garden.<p> </p><br> The Rangers were working on shootout drills when Gaborik and Lundqvist got tangled. As the goalie tried to poke check the puck, Lundqvist's skate hit Gaborik's right knee. Gaborik remained on the ice for a few minutes before skating with a limp to the bench.<p> </p><br> "Basically Henrik was working on shootouts and Gabby was working on the same thing and they had a collision, and there's a laceration on Marian's leg," assistant coach Jim Schoenfeld said. When I was 20 I played for a shitty junior C team and got absolutely blasted in the nuts blocking a shot and went down like a sack of shit.
