The long wait is finally over and here we go again. We chat hockey in the W/W but its pretty hit and miss so I figured might as well get this ball rolling.

Stamkos looked great today in the bits I watched from that game looking forward to Toronto/Detroit tonight.

Most of you don't know I'm a die hard leaf fan as a youngster my heart went East with doug Gilmour and I've been a fan ever since lost my first bet betting on them and never looked back. I'm a big fan of the young core the leafs have been drafting for the last 7 years the Colliacavo, White, Stajan, and so on crew, I miss wellwood . I'm ready to watch them fail so we can get another high end talent.



One more thing to end this first post for guys picking pools next week keep in mind these 2 sleepers Brad Boyes 40 goal guy will get all the pp time in the world. Looks in form to catch his numbers or surpass them why is he a sleeper late bloomer for a highly touted prospect bounced around after the leafs decided they'd rather hold onto stajan and wellwood. Had crazy points last year but he plays in st Louis (no respect) ripped this pre season a new asshole.

Robert Lang less likely to be around but if hes overlooked grab him later should be good for a point a game he looked excellent in the pre season hes up there in age but will be allowed to play a full out offensive game in Montreal with d-men forced to play Kovalev he will have room.

Rangers are a pretty good team but unless they can dump salary aka Naslund and Redden. I can't see how moving 4th line forwards and 3rd string dmen will help anything.

I like Dawes up side he's a potential Marty St Louis. His playing time and development has been slow but like St Louis little guy often take longer to start firing on all cylinders.

Kunitz and Eric Tangradi for Whitney

Kind of a wierd one Kunitz plays with an edge but he's not a great player and imo a waste of what they could have gotten for Whitney.

Tangradi is a very high scoring OHLer who could develope into something or be used as trade bait.

I really thought they would make a big splash to push ahead. A huge 6'4 dman who has wheels and the offensive ability of Whitney is worth more then that especially for a team that was hurting so bad with Gonchar out to injury. Not a deep defense in steel town before the trade hopefully they are saving that first rounder to pull a dman out of Toronto or Ottawa.

Depth is in comparison to the blueshirts. I like the team but take away the top line and they don't matchup very well I'm a huge fan of Eric Fehr and Brooks Laich. Chris Clarkes a feisty player and Victor Kozlov is still a talented guy but the Rangers just plain under achieved in the regular season. They made the right moves at the trade deadline while washington sat.

Boston is the best team in the East and arguably the best team in the playoffs. The Ducks got lucky that San Jose always chokes in the playoffs. Anaheim won't make it past the Wings.

Bostons got a great team but lack a true individual to carry them. I think they will have their hands full with Staal and the Hurricanes.
