I am a huge GSP fan, since 2005. When he lost in 2006 it was a horrible few months for me(also Mirko getting KTFO'd shortly after didn't help).

Whenever GSP fights I get crazy nervous for him. Now, the way I deal with this stress of being a fan is to visualize that GSP is not someone I'm cheering for and pretend that I'm cheering for his opponent. It can be very difficult, but I try to think of all the negative things I can imagine about him and actually try to sympathize with his opponent. The funny thing, is that once you're not emotionally backing GSP, you realize what a doomed scenario his opponent is facing. Being a Kos fan is not fun!

I recommend this technique. Don't worry, you're not going to turn against your fighter by using this visualization. As soon as the fight gets going you can basically stop the visualization and cheer on as your fave fighter is whooping ass.
