Dana said at the post fight press conference that before the end of the year Lyoto would get a title shot but wasn’t sure he would get the next shot he wanted to see what happen with Rampage and Keith. So who do you think Machida should fight next?

That's what Dana said, i think it's BS and he should get a shot at the title. UFC 100 would be a good event and should be enough time for both guys.

Okay for real, if Jackson wins and gets a title shot, a good place holder fight would be against Vera, Hendo (if he's not doing TUF), Franklin, or Forrest (if he's not injured). Out of those a Machida/Franklin rematch is the most intriguing to me. They're both much better than when they fought before, that fight was at heavyweight, and it was over 5 years ago.
If Rampage somehow loses to Jardine, then Machida should fight Rashad for the title, and I bet round 1 breaks the record for least amount of punches connected in a full round.

Other than the fact that Machida in reality should be defending for the first or second time, that's how I see it going down.
Of those possible opponents I'd like to see him face Griffin if only to completely resolve this past discussion:

Machida and Anderson are good friends and refuse to fight.
I hate that crap. They are professionals and this is a sport.
Magic and Bird were friends but they played against each other.
Strahan and Favre were friends but Strahan still knocked him on his ass on a regular basis.

Rashad Evans, Machida is a fucking man. He deserves a title shot. However, as pwn as Machida is, I still feel he'd lose.

Team games where you compete on a weekly basis are much different than a combative sport where you are alone and fight a couple times a year. Not to mention that your practicing / training is done with people you trust.
I don't think Bird joined in on Laker practices on a daily basis observing and reporting back to his coaches..

Either way, Dana has already gone on record to say Machida is still not getting a title shot next and needs more fights.

They became friends during a commercial shoot, which ironically depicted them as enemies.

LOL - When I said that I didn't realize Nogun would come to that fight in worse shape Jenna Jameson's vaginal walls.
I still think Forrest is more more comfortable when his opponent doesn't put pressure on him and gives him room to work. I think Machida would win if they fought (and I did then). I just didn't know Showcan would come to the fight looking so shitty.
