This is a very bad style match up for Wand. Franklin's straight punches and footwork are gonna be a nightmare for him. He's gotta get Franklin to brawl (not likely) or get it in the clinch. Franklin's not going to be baited into a telegraphed leg kick like Jardine was.

The difference between Wand and the guys you mentioned is money. They're paying him a lot more money than the others, and it's hard to 'waste fights' when you're getting paid.

Not a can, but somebody decent who he matches up well with - like Leben. Exciting fight, Wand should win, Leben's not top 15, and Leben's not a can.

I would love to see them build Wand up for the casual fan. Let him score a huge KO over Leben as the main event of a UFN. You know the ratings for that show would be off the charts, and then the casual fans could know Wand better (and then make him a bigger PPV star).

I don't think you can take the weight cut into account because it's supposed to be a catch weight. And when was the last time that Liddell got an easy fight? Dana has said many times that he will feed his stars tough fights over and over and that there will be no "gimme's."
