Regarding his upcoming fight with Chuck and Shogun's future (as of right now):

He has been one of my favorite fighters since he stepped onto the scene in Pride years and years ago. Although I will support him and root for him until his career is over, it's been hard to watch him ever since the Coleman debacle in Pride.

Now I realize that the injuries have contributed greatly to his lack luster training/cardio. However, I saw a sluggish, less aggressive Shogun in Pride even after he broke his elbow.

Shogun was at his best when he was fearless, a cardio machine and extremely aggressive with ALL types of strikes. I don't see it anymore and he drives me NUTS when I watch him throw punches and/or stand and trade. His boxing is sloppy to say the least and I realize he's more a MT guy but he'd be SO WELL SUITED to train nothing but boxing for months and months.

There's no explosion in his strikes anymore... guys with longer reach (Forrest and Chuck) can pick him apart with the jab after he tires.

I'm sad to say it but I see Chuck stopping him early - about 70/30 chance IMHO.

If I watch an out of shape, sluggish Shogun walk into that octagon and look gassed after about 60 seconds - I might just turn it off... I can't really stand to see Chuck knock his head off and Dana tout the superiority of the UFC.

i think you could make a stronger case for Cro Cop where marketability is concerned. but Dana was happy to let him go and doesn't appear interested in bringing him back either.

i think Dana saw value in these guys a year ago when Pride still mattered. i think he's way way way more interested in nurturing his TUF noobs than rehabing former Pride stars - esp ones who don't speak English.

Jardine is just not an exciting fighter IMO, either he gets KTFO or drags out a fight and lets the judges decide...he is no can but hes getting close to being one.
