UFC Champion Jon Jones Arrested For Driving Under The Influence

TMZ is reporting that UFC Light Heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, was arrested earlier this morning in Binghamton, New York for a DUI. TMZ also reports that Jones totaled his Bentley in the process when he crashed it into a pole. No word on the physical condition Jones is in, but presumably he is unharmed, and no one else was hurt as a result either.
Jones was released a few hours later, after his mother arrived to post bail.
Jones is expected to defend his title against Mixed Martial Arts legend Dan Henderson later this summer. This will be Jones' 4th defense of the title.

MMA Legend Fedor Emelianenko May Retire After Rizzo Bout

Former Pride champion Fedor Emelianenko speculated openly that his next bout, against Brazilian veteran Pedro Rizzo on June 21 in St. Petersburg, Russia, may be his last. Emelianenko spoke to the press assembled for a press conference yesterday in Russia and told them that the Rizzo fight may be his last.
The Russian news site Rianovosti quoted Fedor as saying, "I think it's time to call it a day. This fight may be my last one."
Emelianenko has fought twice since being cut by Strikeforce, racking up a decision win over Jeff Monson and finishing Satoshi Ishii on New Year's Eve in Japan.
Prior to that Emelianenko lost three straight fights in Strikeforce. First he was submitted by Fabricio Werdum and then TKO'd by Antonio Silva and Dan Henderson. Jon Jones will defend his light heavyweight title for the fourth time at UFC 151.

“Bones” will square off with former Strikeforce champion Dan Henderson at the Sept. 1 event, according to a statement recently released by promotion officials. UFC 151 will take place in Las Vegas, though a specific venue for the show has not yet been announced.

Jones captured the UFC light heavyweight crown in March of last year, finishing Mauricio Rua via third-round technical knockout at UFC 128. The 24-year-old would go on to successfully defend his title twice more in 2011, forcing Quinton Jackson to tap out to a rear-naked choke in September before putting Lyoto Machida to sleep with a standing guillotine in December. Most recently, Jones bested former training partner Rashad Evans, cruising to a unanimous decision last month at UFC 145 in Atlanta.

Despite compiling one of MMA’s most impressive resumes in nearly 15 years as a professional, Henderson has never held a UFC world title. The former two-division Pride Fighting Championships titlist rides a four-fight winning streak heading into his upcoming title shot.
